Portfolio — 2021 to now

Rohan Gosavi

Dedicated, hard-working, and pointed squarely at what I set out to do. I move between tech and business building depending on what the goal actually needs — this page is that, one year at a time.

Class 12 · Foundation

Finished school, and started asking the wrong-sized questions

Boards year. Everyone around me was optimising for a rank; I was quietly more interested in how businesses actually made money. First serious hours on a laptop that weren't for homework.

  • Cleared 12th and locked in an engineering seat
  • Taught myself the basics — HTML, CSS, a little Python
  • Read more business breakdowns than textbooks

Engineering · Year 1

Engineering began. So did building for real.

First year of engineering. The syllabus taught theory; the interesting learning happened after midnight. I stopped consuming tutorials and started shipping small, ugly, working things.

  • Built my first end-to-end projects and put them online
  • Got comfortable with JavaScript, Git and deploying
  • Found the people who were building instead of waiting

Engineering · Year 2

From projects to paid work

The year the hobby turned into an invoice. I started taking on freelance builds — real clients, real deadlines, real feedback about what people will actually pay for.

  • First paying clients; learned scoping the hard way
  • Went deeper into backend, databases and automation
  • Realised distribution matters more than the stack

Engineering · Year 3

Building an operation, not just a project

One-off client work doesn't compound. This was the year I started thinking in systems — repeatable process, actual positioning, and writing in public so opportunities came inbound.

  • Turned freelance work into a proper service operation
  • Started building in public and writing consistently
  • First taste of AI tooling inside real business workflows

2025
Graduated · Full-time building

Finished engineering. Went all in on building.

Degree done — and instead of taking a placement, I went full-time on my own work with several ventures running in parallel. The fastest year of learning so far, mostly because there was nowhere to hide.

  • Completed my engineering degree
  • Turned down the safe route to build full-time
  • Started and ran multiple ventures at once
  • Learned what to kill, and how fast to kill it

Product, sales, marketing — and expansion

Building was never the bottleneck. This year is about the other half of the business: sharper product thinking, a sales motion that doesn't depend on me, marketing that compounds, and taking what works into new markets.

  • Going deep on product building and positioning
  • Learning sales properly — pipeline, not luck
  • Marketing that compounds instead of resets each month
  • Expanding what already works into new markets

The short version

Five years, one direction

0 years building
0 ventures started
0 lanes — tech & business

School to freelance to founder wasn't a plan — it was the same instinct repeated at bigger stakes each year. I'll write the code or write the pitch, whichever the goal needs that week. Right now that means building products people pay for, and getting them in front of the people who need them.
